As of 2025, this feature is NOT listed in the Pro-Stitcher Designer Manual. Be sure to check out this class to learn HOW and WHEN to use the tool. I'll even tell you why it may "appear" to not work. (Spoiler Alert: There's a trick. It really works beautifully.)
The Overlap Path feature in Pro-Stitcher Designer leverages the brilliance of YOU the design and the accuracy of the computer. It is the difference between:
"My designs pretty much line up enough." and
"My needle is literally in the SAME HOLE on the first and second stitching passes."
It is incredible. Zoom in on the red image to see two paths of thread in the exact same stitching holes (also known as X,Y coordinates to the computer.)
